One Ontario announces partnership with the Ontario Building Officials Association (OBOA) to collaborate on new Streamlined Data Exchange Framework

AECO Innovation Lab is proud to announce that the Ontario Building Officials Association (OBOA) has joined the One Ontario Program.
The AECO One Ontario - OBOA Alliance will help lead change in the Development Approval and Permitting Process - with new digital communication standards that will build Ontario’s future.
The OBOA is a self-governing, not-for-profit organization committed to establishing and maintaining high professional standards in the administration of the Ontario building code. OBOA members are building officials from over 440 municipalities across Ontario who are dedicated to ensuring the building of safe, sustainable and accessible communities.
One Ontario is a new, collaborative Research and Development Initiative, engaging all levels of government, architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) companies, software providers and academics - to create innovative data exchange guidelines to harmonize the municipal development approval process. The resulting communications framework will dramatically decrease permit application times, improve enforcement and reduce burden costs to every municipality.
