Saeid Emamgholian is a highly accomplished Geomatics Ph.D. graduate from Université Laval, specializing in combining GIS, BIM, and data fusion technologies to transform urban planning and development. As the GIS and Data director at AECO Innovation Lab, Saeid focuses on creating innovative solutions for managing zoning, planning policies, and urban digital twin technologies.
Before joining AECO, Saeid made significant contributions to 3D spatial data analysis and management. His doctoral research focused on developing a conceptual framework for modeling land-use regulations as city objects and automating the detection of their conflicts, particularly those with 3D components. Saeid also worked as a postdoc research fellow at the Centre for Research in Geospatial Data and Intelligence (CRDIG) at Université Laval, where he focused on digital twin development for urban applications such as energy and mobility.
Saeid's work at AECO reflects a deep commitment to transforming urban planning through technology, bridging gaps between stakeholders, and making data accessible, structured, and insightful for the public and private sectors.
